Players Cigarette Card - alpaca Players Cigarette Card - llama


These cigarette cards fom 1924 were issued
in a series of fifty by John Player and Sons.



This series of cards titled “Natural History” shows pictures of
“wild” animals on the fronts and related descriptions on backs.
An alpaca is shown on the card on the left and a llama on the card above.

Charter Tea and Coffee card



This card was issued by
Charter Tea and Coffee Co. Ltd in1961.
It is card number 14 from a set of 25 cards
entitled “Transport through the Ages”.
The card was included as a free premium
in a package of tea.


Singer Sewing Machine card

An old Advertising Card
for Singer Sewing Machines.
One side of the card depicts
the Singer No. 127-3,
the other side of the card
depicts a scene in Ecuador,
in which a woman is using
a Singer Sewing Machine.
(Right next to her llama, of course).

I wonder what happened
to her llama’s ears.

Arbuckle Bros. Coffee Co. card












This trading card
was issued by
Arbuckle Bros.
Coffee Co. in 1890.






Candy card



This is one of a set of 25 cards titled “Animals in the Service of Man”.
The cards were included with candy as a premium by Barratt & Co. Ltd.
in the United Kingdom in 1964.


Jewel T Store card


This set of trading cards from the 1950s have color pictures
of zoo animals on the front from the Chicago Lincoln Park Zoo.
On the backs of the trading cards are short paragraphs
describing the zoo animal pictured on the front and
an ad for one of the products sold at the Jewel T Store.

These cards were handed out by Jewel as a promotion for
“Jewel’s Zoo Parade” that was broadcast over WNBQ
on Sunday at 6 pm. This cards shows “Betsy-baby Llama”.


Arbuckle Bros. Coffee Co. card

This card was issued by the
Philadelphia Caramel Co., N.J.
in the early 1900s.

It is from a set of 50 entitled “Zoo”.
The cards were given as a premium
with the purchase of “Zoo” Caramels.
Turf Cigarette Card



This is a silk cigarette card
issued by Imperial Tobacco Canada
between 1912 and 1915.

It features a llama
in front of the Chilean flag.

issued by the
Turf Cigarette Company.
Charter Tea and Coffee



This card is from the 60 card set
by John Dwight & Co. New York.
It is about 100 years old.


Llama cart trading card
This card was issued by the British American
Tobacco Co. Ltd. in 1928. It is card number 12
from a set of 50 cards entitled “Zoological Studies”.
The card was given as a free premium
with the purchase of a pack of 10 cigarettes.

This card is from a set
of 48 cigarette cards
of wild animals issued by
The Gallaher Tobacco Co. in 1937.


Carreras trading card Carreras trading card

These cards were issued in the UK by Carreras Ltd in 1924.
They are from a set of 50 cards entitled “A "Kodak" at the Zoo”.

The cards were given as a free premium with the purchase of a pack of ten Carreras cigarettes.
