A padded llama boot for foot injury
If your llama gets a cut foot while out hiking, it can cause a serious problem. To protect the foot, and help keep the injury clean, you can easily make this protective boot to carry along on your hiking trips. The instructions and patterns are provided below

Materials
Cordura, gortex or some other strong water resistant material
18" of 1" velcro
20" of 1" webbing
Leather for sole 5-1/2" (14cm) by 6" (15-1/2cm)
Fleece padding for inside bottom of boot
- Cut out pattern. Turn back all edges 1/4" and sew down.
- Sew bottom seam A
- Sew leather sole B and C to shoe, as indicated.
- Sew front D and E to main part of shoe as indicated.
- Sew 3" velcro (top or grip side) onto 1" webbing F on front of one end and 3" of bottom or mate of velcro on back of webbing. Sew centre of webbing onto centre back of boot where indicated.
- Sew 2-1/2" velcro onto each inside end of G (7" of 1" webbing) using the top or grip side of the velcro. Sew centre back of webbing to the top of the main part of boot where indicated. The velcro should face the boot.
- Sew 2-1/2" grip side of 1" velcro on inside right side of shoe and correspond with 2-1/2" mate on outside of the left side of the shoe. This is the first area to tighten when putting on the boot.
- Sew 2-1/2" velcro bottom or mate on top outside of right side of boot. This is the second area to be tightened by bringing G webbing around.
- Then the F webbing is tightened around the leg.
- Put fleece inside boot - make it slightly larger than the leather sole. Leave loose inside boot in order that it can be taken out and washed.
